Kinesiologist / Exercise Specialist
Temporary Full Time Maternity Leave, with possibility of extension
Responsibilities/Duties:
The Kinesiologist/ Exercise Specialist reports to the Executive Director of the Edmonton Oliver Primary Care Network and works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of Nurses, Dietitians, Pharmacists, Mental Health Coordinators, and Psychologists to provide supports to patients referred by Family Physicians who are members of network. The Kinesiologist/ Exercise Specialist:
- Develops innovative exercise programs of excellence across the Edmonton Oliver Primary Care Network that deliver the right care to patients at the right time
- Provides fitness assessments and exercise prescriptions for patients with medical conditions
- Supports and empowers patients to make positive lifestyle changes related to exercise
- Links patients with community exercise resources
- Participates in program quality improvement and evaluation initiatives
Qualifications:
Minimum of bachelor degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or an exercise science related degree.
- CSEP-CEP designation preferred.
- Experience working with an interdisciplinary team, within a complex primary care or community setting
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to use electronic medical records for charting
- Excellent interpersonal and team skills
- The ability to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform the tasks and responsibilities required of the position
- An excellent attendance record
- A clear criminal record check
- Current CPR (Heart and Stroke Foundation BLS Level C- Health Care Provider)

Full-Time Family Physicians - The Links Clinic
The Links Clinic, a highly regarded 20 physician group with family practice, has openings for two full-time family physicians.
The Links Clinic offers an excellent professional working environment, patient volume, flexible work hours and has been on electronic medical records for 20 years.
The Links Clinic is part of the Edmonton Oliver Primary Care Network. The doctors and clinic patients have on site access to referral coordinators, INR nurses, dietitian, kinesiologist, chonic disease management nurses, screening coordinators, pharmacists, mental health coordinators, psychologists, and screening staff. Also available through the PCN is specialist linkages with an ENT, orthopedic consultant, cardiologist and three psychiatrists. Primary Care Network services are collocated at the Mira Health Centre, 11910 111 Ave, where the Links Clinic is located.
Dynalife DX Diagnostic Laboratory Services and CML HealthCare Imaging Inc. are on site along with other health-related services. There are no clinic management responsibilities or capital investment required. You can devote your time to medicine and have an outstanding team to support you!
